Richard Nixon was the 37th President of the United States of America, the symbolic leader of the country. His presidency began in 1969 and ended in 1974. He was 56 years old when he first began his term of office on January 20, 1969.

Richard Nixon's Nickname Meanings
Richard Milhous Nixon was named after the family name of his mother
'Hannah Milhous Nixon'. He had a variety of nicknames including Tricky Dick, Richard the Chicken-Hearted, Gloomy Gus and The Boss. His most famous nickname 'Tricky Dicky' was first given due to allegations of dirty tricks during the 1950 US Senate race of California. It later applied to the circumstances surrounding the the Watergate Scandal. Gloomy Gus was an old nickname given at college due to his serious and often pessimistic nature.
